Proposing is scary and nerve racking for any guy! If you are thinking about popping the question soon here are some great ideas for how, when and where to do it.
You need to personalize your proposal to your lady so think carefully about what kind of girl she is and then plan something great. She deserves it!
1. Back to the First Date
Go back to the scene of the first date and get down on one knee. If possible, don’t let her know where you are headed until you are there.
Once you are there, you can reminisce about that first date and then pop the question!
2. Vacation
Take her on a trip, someplace romantic preferably, and propose. She may be expecting something on vacation so try and wait until she won’t expect it to pull out the ring.
3. With Family
Gather family and friends for a party and do it with all of them as witnesses. It might be best to make sure that you are pretty sure she will say YES to avoid any undue embarrassment or awkwardness.
4. When She Least Expects It
This will only work if you have the right kind of girl. Some girls love spontaneity and surprise.
If so, try slipping her the ring in the shower or leaving the ring box (with a note) by her coffee in the morning.
If you two have a favorite spot to eat, drink, hang out or socialize then you could propose there.
The place undoubtedly already holds special memories and will now hold one more! Plus, if you go there often, she won’t see it coming!
6. A Joke
If you two are jokesters then try incorporating an inside joke into your proposal. Your joke might be simple or elaborate but if you two enjoy laughing together then there is no better way to start your marriage!
7. In a Letter
Sometimes it can be hard to express yourself and you can get nervous or tripped up when speaking. A letter can be a great way to express what you feel and really let her know how wonderful she is.
You should NOT send a letter. A letter should be given in person. Perhaps when she looks up from the letter you could be on your knee with the ring.
8. On Video
Make a video of yourself speaking, clips of the two of you, or a picture slideshow. Slip it in when she least expects it.
Let her think you are putting in your latest Redbox rental and when she sees what it really is she will be stunned and excited.
If you are nervous about popping the question trying one of these 8 ideas may be a great way to take some of the pressure off. You can (and should!) tailor your proposal to your future fiancé. Is she silly or serious?
Does she love surprises and being around family? The proposal should be all about making her feel special. Your lady is one of a kind and deserves to be treated as such!
